Artist's Description

Close-up details of vibrant red-orange snapdragon flower petals dominate the frame, with a shallow depth of field bringing one petal into sharp focus against a blurred background. The delicate texture of the petal surfaces is highlighted by the bright, warm sunlight casting subtle shadows and enhancing the vividness of the colors.

About Faye Kilday

Faye Kilday

I am a mixed media artist from New Zealand and I create my artwork under my business name Woven Fairy. I use needle felting to create my colourful wool paintings. I make monoprints on my gel plate. And I also write poetry and take photos. I create zines (mini books) which combine my art and writing and sell them on my ko-fi website at www.ko-fi.com/wovenfairy . I adore colour as can be seen in many of my artworks. Working with colour makes me happy and keeps me inspired. The natural world inspires my art a lot as it's where I can be myself. As a young child I was mostly nonverbal and very shy. Creativity was my way to escape from the world and also to communicate with the world. Many years later, as an adult, I was diagnosed with Autism...
